Seeking an experienced leader to direct global trade compliance strategy across all business units. This role ensures adherence to import/export regulations, manages denied party/sanction screening, develops compliance policies, and partners cross-functionally to align trade compliance with organizational goals while mitigating risk in a complex regulatory environment.
Responsibilities: • Lead global trade compliance function, setting objectives, improving processes, and aligning regional teams. • Provide expert guidance on international trade regulations, sanctions, and risk management. • Ensure accuracy and consistency in tariff and export control classifications, valuations, and Free Trade Agreement activities. • Oversee audits, investigations, corrective actions, and government reporting. • Serve as delegated authority for registrations, licenses, and regulatory filings (e.g., ITAR, EAR). • Manage third-party brokers, consultants, and compliance software providers. • Build strong relationships with government agencies and external counsel. • Develop and deliver global trade compliance training programs.
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in international business, law, supply chain, or related field (advanced degree preferred). • 8-10+ years of global trade compliance or related regulatory experience, including leadership. • Expertise in HTS classification, export controls, Incoterms, customs compliance, and sanctions. • In-depth knowledge of U.S. and international trade regulations (EAR, ITAR, FTR, etc.). • Proven success managing global teams, compliance programs, and regulatory audits. • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills. • U.S. Person under ITAR; ERP and trade compliance software experience (SAP preferred). • Multilingual skills a plus.
