Overview
The Design Engineering Manager will lead the Engineering Design Department, setting strategic direction and ensuring all design initiatives support the companys long-term goals. This role focuses on delivering innovative, efficient, and cost-effective systems, while improving operational performance and design capabilities. The position requires strong cross-functional collaboration and technical leadership. Responsibilities
Set and execute the departments strategic goals in alignment with company objectives.
Oversee the design of grinding systems and related technologies to meet performance, quality, and cost targets.
Develop and enforce engineering standards, design processes, and best practices.
Act as the lead technical authority on product design and problem-solving.
Mentor and develop the engineering team to foster a high-performance culture.
Introduce new tools, materials, and methods to improve product innovation and competitiveness.
Ensure effective use of CAD and ERP systems, including BOM workflows.
Approve key design decisions, budgets, and timelines.
Support product lifecycle management from concept to post-launch enhancements.
Qualifications
Bachelors in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required; Masters or MBA preferred.
710 years of engineering experience, with 35 years in a leadership role.
Strong background in product design, mechanical/electrical systems, and engineering principles.
Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex design projects.
Proficiency in CAD tools, ERP systems, and BOM management.
Experience in manufacturing, especially with capital equipment or industrial systems.
