We support formerly homeless adults living with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders by providing a continuum of integrated direct care services. Facilities Technician III
works jointly with the Facilities Manager, Capital Asset Manager, and Co-Op Program Director to efficiently prepare units for move-in ready status, supporting the goal of minimal vacancies across the system. The employee strives for efficient and smooth operations by focusing on the duties and responsibilities outlined below
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Dedicated Maintenance Technician to Co-Op Programs, BSLP & AILP)-exceptions would include emergent needs at other Programs and specifically scheduled special projects (e.g. company events) Ensures all assigned equipment is in proper working order and available for use. Reports on any necessary repairs. Maintains physical space, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment. Receives, manages, and processes work order requests; ensuring work orders are resolved within a reasonable period of time. Acts as liaison between all parties, including staff, contractors (on specialized projects), and clients. In coordination with the Facilities Manager, gather and store unit information (including photos) during annual unit inspections, property inspections, and during all phases of any rehab project. Submit the completed Property Inspection Worksheet as appropriate. Drive safe, efficient completion of Co-Op property rehabs on schedule and within deadlines. Communicate daily and as needed with supervisor(s) to monitor progress and overcome challenges. Drafts and implements preventative maintenance schedules for buildings and equipment. Ensuring safety standards are followed throughout the Program. Reports on any unsafe conditions. Participates in the emergency preparedness planning team. Assists with the application for required environmental permits. Maintains the inventory of supplies; reorders as needed. Responsible for troubleshooting and repairs. Areas of up-keep include electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, cabinetry, HVAC,minor locksmithing, hanging doors, painting, and removing and replacing windows. Verifies and submits all receipts from purchases and charges. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Must have a valid CA Drivers' License. Throughout employment, employee must maintain a valid CA Drivers' license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with company's auto insurability guidelines. Advanced working knowledge of general carpentry and cabinetry applicable to flooring, walls, shelving, doors, windows and finish work. Advanced experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC and minor lock-smithing. Must be well organized and able to maintain accurate records, receipts and mileage logs. Must have good interpersonal communication and be able to direct coworkers. Must be able to write legibly and clearly. Physical Requirements
Must be able to communicate verbally, orally, and written with others to exchange information. Must be able to navigate several flights of stairs at a time. Must be able to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment. Must be able lift and carry 50 lbs. for several feet . Must be able to use tools that require wrist and hand movements. Must be able to maintain crouching and bending positions for extended periods of time. Must be able to be on facility roofs for extended periods of time. Must be able to use power tools Must be able to work on ladders, sometimes above 12 feet in height.
