Hyundai is seeking a highly skilled Functional Architect to join our team focused on telematics, connected vehicles, and mobility solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of automotive systems, IoT technologies, and a passion for enhancing user experiences through innovative solutions. As a Functional Architect, you will design and implement functional requirements within complex systems using the latest technologies, including Microservices Architecture (MSA), AWS, and IoT. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze and document system functionality, ensuring alignment with business objectives while leveraging cloud technologies and IoT solutions. You will create detailed functional specifications, incorporating data models, process workflows, and integration points that reflect modern architectural best practices. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will validate architectural designs with a focus on scalability and performance in cloud environments. Your technical expertise will include RESTful APIs, Docker containerization, and Kubernetes orchestration. By conducting thorough requirements analysis and leveraging contemporary development practices, you will drive innovative solutions that enhance system interactions and optimize user experience across all platforms. Essential Functions: Analyze and synthesize complex project requirements, translating them into actionable architectural solutions Prioritize features and functionalities based on stakeholder feedback and priority Design and develop functional architecture for telematics and connected mobility solutions in alignment with solution architecture Work closely with product management, software engineers, and solution architecture to ensure seamless integration of various components Facilitate communication across teams, including design, development, and testing, to deliver high-quality solutions Provide functional architectural guidance and best practices for software and system design Mentor junior functional architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement Develop strategies for integrating new technologies, platforms, and services into existing telematics and mobility ecosystems Evaluate third-party solutions and make recommendations for implementation Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for architectural designs, system requirements, and integration processes Contribute to creating ROM, Project Charter, Statement of Work and other documents requiring functional architect skill sets Ensure that all documentation meets KPI targets and is clear for various stakeholders Ensure that all functional architecture adheres to industry standards, regulations, and best practices and aligns globally Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies to keep Hyundai ahead in automotive telematics Collaborate with testing teams to develop testing strategies for new features and systems Validate performance, reliability, and security metrics of the designed architecture in collaboration with solution architecture Lead business requirement discussions with stakeholders to understand business needs, design solutions, and map them to technical functionalities Gather, analyze, translate, design, and document business requirements into business requirement documents and detailed functional specifications Design and document processes into standard operating procedures; conduct gap analyses to identify improvement opportunities Basic Requirements: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; a masters degree or relevant certifications are a plus Minimum of 57 years of experience in system architecture and design or as a developer; automotive telematics or connected vehicle domains are preferred At least 5 years of experience in designing and writing specs for business systems and/or as a functional architect Proven track record of successfully leading complex projects is a plus Strong knowledge of telematics technologies, including wireless communication (e.g., V2X, 4G/5G) Experience with cloud and edge computing, IoT platforms, and data analytics Familiarity with programming languages, APIs, and software development frameworks Ability to determine product quality and release readiness standards Experience with Web, Web Service/API, and Mobile software applications testing Demonstrated effective leadership and timely communication in a fast-paced environment Ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver against critical timelines Understanding of customer schedules and requirements, and the technology and product development necessary to meet expectations Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical resources Ability to influence others and collaborate with stakeholders while maintaining executive presence Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for solution delivery Excellent organizational and communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft tools (MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and Confluence Data analysis skills (SQL data extraction, exporting to MS Excel, data manipulation, reporting, and analysis) Ability to drive a project from initiation to completion with minimal supervision Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and client-facing presentation abilities Experience with the automotive industry is a plus Authorized to work for any employer in the United States Willingness to relocate or work on-site as required Note: This description does not cover every duty, responsibility, or qualification and may be revised at any time. #J-18808-Ljbffr
