William Charles Construction is now hiring an HR Business Partner in Rockford, IL. The HR Business Partner is tasked with ensuring alignment between the business operations and HR practices and objectives of multiple companies within the segment. The HR Business Partner provides consulting and coaching to departmental leaders and managers in order to support the businesss vision, mission and overall objectives. The HR Business Partner will focus on business growth, workforce strategy, consulting, talent initiatives, organizational effectiveness, change management and leadership development. The HR Business Partner maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business units financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition. Salary: Rockford, IL $72,000 - $78,000. Partner with business leaders to implement and support HR strategies, programs and initiatives that align with the overall strategic direction and goals Build strong relationships with local management and management throughout the enterprise to understand needs and recommend improvements related to workforce planning, processes, culture, and other HR items Support the Regional HR Director on designing and executing long-range HR objectives focused on workforce planning, staffing, talent management, and succession planning Provide coaching and resources to assist managers with employment law, investigations, coaching, progressive discipline, conditions of employment, accommodations, leaves of absence, terminations and employee development and engagement Complete day-to-day administration of onboarding new hires in the applicant tracking system and HRIS Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR to develop solutions, programs, and policies Act as business unit liaison to Training & Development, Talent Acquisition, Marketing/Communications, and Culture Analytics teams Lead change by partnering with leaders on planning, implementing and communicating changes involving employees Partner with the Compensation group on promotions and pay adjustments to ensure pay equity Maintain knowledge of HR and industry trends to improve efficiencies and remain compliant with laws and regulations Lead special projects aligned with organizational goals and strategies Other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Director Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) and 5+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Professional certification preferred (e.g., SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) Strong understanding of talent management, including acquisition, performance, learning & development, and succession planning Working knowledge of HRIS systems (iCIMS and UKG preferred) Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations Proficient in MS Office Suite; advanced level a plus Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment under pressure Ability to work within a matrix organization Experience in the Construction Industry is preferred Regional travel may be required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
