is seeking a
mid-level SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)
to assist with
SQL Server migrations
across multiple state agencies and platforms. The DBA will support the planning, execution, and validation of database migrations while ensuring availability, security, and performance throughout the process. Key Responsibilities
Assist in assessing and documenting current SQL Server environments. Plan and execute database migrations across various SQL Server versions and hybrid platforms. Perform backup, restore, and data validation tasks. Collaborate with senior DBAs, infrastructure, and application teams. Perform health checks, monitor performance, and resolve issues during and after migrations. Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery strategies (Always On, clustering, etc.). Ensure database security and compliance throughout the migration lifecycle. Document procedures, incidents, and configurations to support future operations. Required Skills
Proven experience in
SQL Server database administration Hands-on experience with
SQL Server backup/restore, scripting, and migration techniques Experience working with
SQL Server clustering
and
Always On Availability Groups Familiarity with
performance tuning and optimization Working knowledge of
data integrity and security best practices Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Desired Soft Skills
