Position Summary:
The HR Site Leader Generalist is a key member of the plant leadership team, responsible for leading all HR functions at the Solo Labs manufacturing site while supporting HR needs at a satellite location in Columbus, Indiana. This onsite role plays a critical part in driving workforce stability, employee engagement, compliance, and operational excellence. The HR Site Leader will report directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the President of Solo Labs and the Columbus Facility Plant Manager to ensure alignment with site-level business operations and leadership.
In addition to core HR responsibilities, this position manages a flexible labor model, including temporary employees and a variable workforce, to meet changing production demands across both sites. The role requires regular travel to the Columbus site to ensure consistency and support for workforce-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary Manufacturing Site: Act as the onsite HR leader to plant management, supervisors, and employees. Lead all HR operations at site: staffing, employee relations, performance management, HR policy enforcement, compliance, and training consistent with Bradford Corporate policies and practices. Manage relationships with temporary staffing agencies and oversee day-to-day coordination of temp employees, including onboarding, timekeeping, attendance, and performance issues. Monitor and manage variable workforce needs in collaboration with production planning, ensuring staffing levels align with production demand. Lead workforce forecasting and communicate needs to external labor providers. Drive initiatives to convert high-performing temporary workers to full-time status when appropriate. Partner with EHS on safety training and compliance programs. Coach and advise supervisors on performance, discipline, and employee engagement. Maintain accurate employee records and support payroll, attendance, and HRIS processes. Lead or support employee engagement activities, communications, and retention initiatives. Manage site Workers Compensation injuries and restrictions. Work with Safety office on injury reporting, investigation and return to work plan. Satellite Site (Columbus, IN):
Provide HR support to the Columbus, IN satellite site, including regular onsite visits and remote support. Coordinate staffing needs, including temporary labor, in partnership with local leaders and staffing vendors. Ensure consistent HR policy application and compliance with employment law. Support local onboarding, training, and employee relations. Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and supervisors at the satellite site. Manage site Workers Compensation injuries and restrictions. Work with Safety office on injury reporting, investigation and return to work plan. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 5+ years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Experience managing temporary staffing relationships and variable labor models is required. Strong working knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and best practices. Experience supporting multiple worksites or offsite teams. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Ability to work onsite full-time and travel regularly to Columbus, IN (up to 10%). Work Environment:
100% onsite in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Regular interaction with production floor staff and supervisors. Frequent travel to Columbus, Indiana required (approximately 1-2 times/month or as needed).
