Job Title: SAS Wire Harness Technician Job Description

As a SAS Wire Harness Technician, you will be responsible for building, assembling, and integrating high-quality wire harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies specifically for aerospace applications. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with engineering teams to refine and scale prototype designs into mass manufacturable products while maintaining detailed documentation for harness build processes and operational procedures.

Responsibilities

Build, assemble, and integrate wire harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies for aerospace applications.

Collaborate with engineering teams to refine and scale prototype designs into mass manufacturable products.

Develop and maintain detailed documentation for harness build processes and operational procedures.

Provide training and mentorship to team members and collaborate with engineering to improve future processes.

Participate in product development stages and collaborate with production engineers to optimize production lines.

Perform electrical checkouts and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.

Work with cross-functional teams to address production and development challenges.

Stay current with new technologies and tools to continuously improve processes.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in wire harness assembly and electro-mechanical systems.

Ability to execute test procedures for component and system level testing.

Experience with manufacturing electrical & RF, electro-mechanical, opto-mechanical, and electro-optical final build and integration.

Ability to create and understand assembly drawings.

High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or technical environment, or an associate degree in engineering or math.

Experience in fabricating or inspecting wire harness and cable assemblies with the ability to interpret complex schematics and technical documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of soldering, wire stripping, and clamping techniques.

Ability to use various mechanical and precision tools, including measuring instruments.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.

IPC-620 Certification or equivalent.

Experience in aerospace, aviation, or high-reliability operating environments.

Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

J-STD-001 Soldering Certification, NASA STD 8739.1, and NASA STD 8739.4 Certifications.

Experience with electrical testing and troubleshooting.

Experience in a high-growth startup or large tech company.

Familiarity with ISO standards and compliance issues.

Self-driven and motivated individual working in a complex and evolving environment.

Work Environment

This position requires working onsite in Northridge, CA. You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team focused on the development of low orbiting satellite payloads.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
