(R/M), we are seeking an experienced Water Supply Engineer to join our team supporting municipal clients across Wisconsin. This position offers flexibility to work out of our Waukesha, Madison, or Green Bay offices and provides the opportunity to lead critical water infrastructure projects while engaging in strategic planning, client relations, and technical mentorship.
In this role, you'll serve as a key contributor and technical lead on projects ranging from water supply planning and well siting to treatment facility upgrades and distribution system design. You'll work directly with municipal clients, state agencies, contractors, and a team of internal engineers and technicians to solve complex water challenges-helping communities deliver safe, reliable drinking water. This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:
Lead and manage design and construction administration for municipal water supply projects, including wells, treatment systems, storage, booster stations, and distribution pipelines. Conduct and oversee planning studies, such as well siting, capacity evaluations, and system modeling. Prepare technical documents including plans, specifications, cost estimates, and regulatory permit applications. Coordinate with internal design teams, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and compliant project delivery. Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and responsive project management. Engage in business development activities, including proposal writing, client presentations, and contract negotiations. Mentor and support staff by sharing technical knowledge and fostering professional development. Stay current on industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies related to water supply and treatment. Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following education, experience, and abilities:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin required. Minimum of 6 years of experience in water supply design and construction administration. At least 2 years of experience in project management and/or business development roles. Proven expertise in areas such as:
Water supply planning and modeling Well siting and permitting Treatment design (e.g., iron, radium, PFAS) Distribution system design (pipelines, booster stations, storage) Construction oversight and contractor coordination
Experience with client communication, business development strategy, and proposal development. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Benefits
