Job Summary

Dual Enrollment/ACCESS Monitor

Job Goal

To assist students and staff with dual enrollment and ACCESS courses.

Qualifications

1. A minimum of 48 semester hours of credit from an accredited college and/or university or an associate's degree from an accredited post-secondary institution or a passing score on WorkKeys.

2. Must meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the

Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999

and

Act No. 2002-457 .

3. Experience in working with high school students.

4. Basic technology proficiency.

5. Basic record keeping for attendance/course management.

6. Other qualifications the Board may deem acceptable and appropriate.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Ability to plan and organize effectively.

2. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, administrators, teachers, and community in support of instruction.

3. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

4. Ability to operate computer programs and related technology for school operations.

5. Knowledge of state and local policies and procedures.

6. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student record information.

7. Physical mobility, dexterity, strength, and visual acuity to meet student needs, monitor and supervise students, and deal with student problems

Essential Functions

1. Provides instructional assistance and encouragement to students to complete their assignments.

2. Daily monitoring of attendance, progress, pacing and performance.

3. Keeps records and completes necessary reports for the program on a timely basis.

4. Communicates with post-secondary institutions to provide support.

5. Confers with students individually and/or in groups to modify unacceptable behavior and emphasize positive skills.

6. Works with teachers, counselors, and school administrators to identify students in need of additional assistance.

7. Adheres to federal, state, local and board rules and regulations.

8. Takes leave time in accordance with Board policy and reports all absences to the district's absence management system in a timely manner.

9. Reports to work on time and regularly as designated by work schedule.

10. Assumes other reasonable and equitable job-related duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment

The terms of employment shall be in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy Manual, Students First Act, and the Board's Salary Schedule -Dual Enrollment/ACCESS Monitor.

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel
