Shovel Truck Drivers
for the upcoming snow removal season. If you've got the skills, we've got the work. Join our team and turn your winter driving experience into great pay.
Summary of the position: The Shovel Truck Driver is responsible for transporting the assigned shovel crew to client sites during snow events. In addition to driving, this position assists the crew with snow and ice removal from driveways, walkways, and parking lots. This is an on-call position; hours and schedules will vary depending on weather conditions.
Duties: Maintain clear communication with the Zone Coordinator, Area Supervisor, and team members to ensure efficient performance, exceptional quality, and consistent results. Safely and skillfully operate the shovel truck to transport the crew and maintain assigned client sites to the highest quality standards. Ensure administrative tasks (i.e., time entry, DOT pre-trip, etc.) are completed promptly and accurately. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards while performing work. Perform snow shoveling and ice removal services from sidewalks, driveways, and other designated areas during active snow events. Follow instructions from Zone Coordinator or Area Supervisor, meet deadlines, and maintain the schedule assigned. Operation of sidewalk equipment including sweeper, skid with broom, UTV, and snow shovel as needed. Perform ice management activities, including applying salt and other de-icing materials, as directed by the Zone Coordinator or Area Supervisor. Perform vehicle inspections, routine maintenance checks, and promptly report any mechanical or safety issues. Use required PPE and follow all DOT and company safety regulations; immediately report any accidents or hazards. May be required to load equipment and materials needed for snow and ice removal services, to ensure the crew has the proper tools and supplies before leaving for each site. Perform additional duties as assigned, with responsibilities and tasks subject to change as needed. Job requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Prior experience is preferred but not essential. The ideal candidate will be able to pass a background check and be physically fit enough to meet the demands of the functions listed below. Must have a valid driver's license, and an insurable driving record. Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 50lbs on a regular and consistent basis, move about the work site. Requires extended periods of activity including, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting, up to 100% of a workday. Work Environment:
Exposed to exterior elements (i.e., pollen, chemicals, cold and heat etc.). External environment with all weather and terrain exposure. Schedule:
Due to the unpredictability of the winter weather, scheduling is on call. Expectation of availability for the winter weather is 24/7 on-call work. This includes weekends, holidays, overnights, etc.
