Description
Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
Kuiper Customer Terminal Engineering is looking for an individual who will lead our Aviation Regulatory and Compliance organization. This is a critical role ensuring Kuiper's first aviation terminals meet applicable government, regulatory and company regulations on a first-generation product. As a Senior Regulatory and Compliance Engineer for Project Kuiper, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to conceive, design and develop innovative phased array antenna terminals for aviation applications. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.
Key job responsibilities
Deliver results on complex projects involving cross functional teams across the company
Subject matter expert on all regulatory and compliance for Kuiper's aviation product development.
Work with stakeholders to define regulatory requirements and product definition
Contribute to and influence new product design and architecture
Understand current system capabilities and limitations and how this impacts regulatory and complicance
Problem solve and explore solutions to current processes and systems
Coordinate with cross functional teams to deliver a quality product on time and at cost
Drive continuous improvement
Flawless execution in delivery of documents and systems to meet and exceed our partner teams timelines.
*This role will require travel.
Export Control Requirement

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related, or equivalent work experience
5+ years of managing complex technology projects working directly with engineering teams
5+ years in an aviation regulatory and/or compliance role (DO160, FAR P21/P145, OEM Boeing/Airbus)
5+ years of supply chain and/or manufacturing for complex systems/devices
3+ years of leading high performing, technologically savvy teams
Experience leading and defining requirements and driving these across diverse organizations
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
Experience with the project management of technical projects
Experience understanding of product development process in Satcom Aviation Electronics systems or sub-systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
