TS/SCI cleared Software Engineer
to support our long-term DIA-NEMC DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) contract. Collaborate with a talented group of Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, Architects, and Operations Engineering/Managers on vital projects that involve both middle-tier and backend engineering tasks. Enjoy the flexibility of a schedule that sometimes offers remote work options while primarily working on-site at our client location in Bethesda, MD. Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems, including processing-intensive analytics, real-time systems, and business management information systems, based on documented requirements. Contribute to software design, focusing on hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and requirements analysis. Design, implement, and integrate software applications while adhering to the best software engineering practices. Participate in testing, staging, and production deployments. Assist in maintaining services and procedures for a big data pipeline involving Kafka, Elasticsearch, and various microservices written in Python and Java, operating on Kubernetes. Develop and integrate Docker containers for deployment on Kubernetes. Monitor automated system integration tests to identify issues with modules and components. Manage individual project priorities, deliverables, and deadlines while fostering teamwork for high-quality service delivery. Required Skills: Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years or a Master's with 6-10 years of relevant experience (or equivalent work experience). Active Top Secret/SCI clearance and ability to obtain a Polygraph. Experience with containerization, especially Docker. Proficiency in DevOps practices and tools, particularly Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools such as GitLab or Jenkins. At least 8 years of experience with Python and API development. Experience in Extraction, Transformation, and Load (ETL) processes. Understanding of enterprise search capabilities like Elasticsearch for handling Big Data challenges. Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL Server. Familiarity with Agile methodologies. Hands-on development experience in Python and Bash within a Linux environment. Experience with AWS cloud architecture and services. Knowledge of Artifactory. Strong verbal and written communication skills. A self-starter who thrives in a team-oriented environment. You will stand out if you have these skills: Active Security+ or CE certification. Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification. Experience with GraphQL, Apache NiFi, or Kafka. Experience with scalable systems and enterprise deployments. Experience with Appian low-code platforms.
