TS/SCI cleared Senior Software Development Engineer

to support our long-term DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) contract. Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, Architects, and Operations Managers on diverse activities across system development, focusing on middle-tier and backend engineering tasks. While most work will take place at our client site in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule with the possibility of remote tasks, depending on client requirements. Your Responsibilities Include: Develop, maintain, and enhance sophisticated software systems, including processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of large datasets, real-time systems, and business management information systems based on documented requirements. Provide insights into the software components of system design, encompassing hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and requirements analysis from the system level to individual software components. Design, implement, and integrate software applications or perform software engineering tasks. Utilize appropriate software engineering methodologies suitable for the development, integration, and production environment. Participate in testing, staging, and production deployment processes. Assist in maintaining services and procedures for a big data pipeline, including Kafka, Elasticsearch, and various in-house Python/Java microservices operating on Kubernetes. Develop and integrate Docker containers for deployment on Kubernetes. Monitor automated system integration tests to identify failures in modules and components. Manage project priorities, deliverables, and deadlines effectively. Promote a collaborative environment among team members to provide quality service and products to our customers. Key Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree. Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph. Experience in containerization, particularly with Docker. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools such as Gitlab or Jenkins. Minimum of 8 years of experience with: Python. API development. Experience with Extraction, Transformation, and Load (ETL) processes. Enterprise search capabilities utilizing Elasticsearch to tackle Big Data challenges. Proficiency in PostgreSQL and SQL Server. Understanding of Agile practices. Hands-on development or scripting experience, particularly in Python and Bash within a Linux environment. Experience with AWS cloud architecture and services (e.g., Lambda) as well as software development. Familiarity with Artifactory. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Enthusiastic team player who can also work independently. Additional Preferred Qualifications: Active Security+ certification. Active CE certification. Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification from the Government. Experience with GraphQL Service. Familiarity with Apache NiFi. Experience with systems at scale. Knowledge of Kafka or similar message-passing systems. Experience within a production or enterprise system. Understanding of the Appian low-code application development platform.
