UMMS is seeking a skilled
ER RN
for a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department. First-time travelers with a strong skillset are welcome. Candidate must be comfortable floating within specialty and sister ED units as needed. Key Requirements: 2 years of ER or acute care experience Previous charge nurse experience required Comfortable with 1:4 patient ratios Active MD RN or Compact RN license Epic charting experience required Community hospital experience required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; CPI, PALS, TNCC, NRP, NIHSS preferred Patient Age Groups:
Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics Skills & Competencies
Emergency Care:
Triage, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, STEMI & Stroke protocols, 12-lead EKG Medications & IV Therapy:
Emergency meds, continuous IV sedation/paralytics, IV vasopressors, blood products, central line care, phlebotomy Respiratory & Ventilation:
Chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, ABG interpretation, intubation, ventilated patients Neurology & Orthopedics:
CVA management, splint application Psychiatric Care:
Suicide risk, acute psychosis, violent behavior management Other:
Isolation precautions, pediatrics, abdominal pain, asthma, hyperglycemia, infections, mental health crises Facility Details
General ED – combined adult/pediatric care STEMI & Stroke certified 36 beds, 32 rooms Daily census ~90 patients Interdisciplinary support: PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Unit Secretary Compensation
Hourly Rate:
$65.06/hr
W2 (taxable): $18/hr Non-taxable stipend: $47.06/hr
