While reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the

Electro-Mechanic I

is responsible for achieving a high level of reliability for plant equipment through performing tasks required to maintain equipment and minimizing downtime. This individual will use their training and knowledge to perform equipment/process/system maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, make repairs, and identify opportunities for improvement.

This is a skilled maintenance technician position, whose roles and responsibilities are as follows:

Must be able to work safely and follow all Highland Packaging safety rules and procedures. Must be able to pass electrical skills and safety testing to become a qualified Category 2 worker. Must follow all Sonoco Electrical Safety Work Practices. Must be able to learn and improve skills and knowledge about equipment troubleshooting and maintenance. Will work on electrical systems up to 480 Volts. Expected to have strong knowledge and experience with PLCs, AC/DC motor controls, and other electric/electronic devices. Work at heights up to 60 feet. Run conduit and other cable management systems. Mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and building repairs. Subject to emergency call-in. Correctly report spare parts usage. Maintaining housekeeping and organization. This position is in the Perimeter of the Store Plastics Plant in Plant City, FL.

You will need to be Sonoco mission-driven. You will need 3-5 years' experience within an industrial setting. You must know PLCs, VFDs, and other electrical/electronic devices. Able to understand electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and systems. Use this ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment. Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office, and CMMS. General math skills. Proficient use of applicable electronic measuring and diagnostic tools; multimeter, circuit locator, thermal imaging equipment. Strong communication skills, verbal, written, and phone. Organization and time management. Maintaining technical knowledge; course training and continued education required.
