Volunteers Needed!

HIS Coalition for the Homeless is a 501c3 that serves to bring awareness to the plight of the homeless and to complete the work our Lord asks us to do, "Love thy neighbor as thy self." We are currently looking for volunteers for a variety of roles as we develop our emergency winter overnight shelter program in the Brookhaven area. This program will operate out of a local church (location TBD), and will serve approximately 10 guests per night one night a week. Prior volunteer experience is not required, as training will be provided for all positions. We only ask that applicants have a heart for the plight of the homeless. As our program is not yet in operation, this opportunity has been posted to spread awareness and to gauge interest of potential volunteers. Shift days/times are to be determined. Available volunteer positions will include: General setup and breakdown of shelter beds Guest registration Meal preparation and food distribution Overnight supervision of guests Laundry assistant Fundraising for future program needs If you are passionate about our mission and would like to be involved, please connect with us at hiscoalition@gmail.com to find out how you can support our "heart work"!
