Automation Engineer
to join our
Automation & PLC Services
client. In this role, you’ll help design, configure, and support PLC-based control systems that power critical operations for our customers. This is your opportunity to grow your expertise in PLC, HMI, SCADA, and IIoT/Industry 4.0 technologies while working on meaningful projects that drive efficiency, safety, and innovation. What You’ll Do: Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs for both OEM skids and custom process equipment Configure SCADA solutions, local historians, and integrations with 3rd-party systems (e.g., DeltaV, OSI PI) Develop functional requirements and detailed design documentation for automation projects Support FATs, SATs, and commissioning activities at customer sites Assist with aftermarket support including updates to control strategies, small-scale expansions, and process optimization Migrate existing PLC programming to Emerson Rx3i and modify GE iFIX databases/graphics as needed Review vendor design packages and work with contractors on panel/equipment installations Perform loop checks, final testing, and startup support alongside plant personnel Travel within NC, SC, and VA (approx. 25%) What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience) 2+ years of experience with PLC/HMI configuration, troubleshooting, and commissioning Familiarity with SCADA systems, control panel installations, and industrial networking Strong documentation skills and ability to collaborate across engineering and customer teams Willingness to travel regionally to support customer projects Take the next step in your engineering career and join a team that values precision, problem-solving, and innovation.
Compensation: $100,000-$140,000 per year
