Chaperones Needed for Travel with Adults with Intellectual Disabilities

We need volunteers for many trips throughout 2025 and 2026. Some of the exciting trips we need chaperones for are: Disneyland, Sea World, Cruises, Dude Ranches, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Knott's Berry Farm, and many, many more! These are overnight trips of 3 to 5 days. NEW DIRECTIONS for People with Disabilities, Inc. (New Directions Travel) is looking for chaperones to support and assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) on escorted group vacations throughout the year. Experience with people with IDD preferred, but not required. New Directions Travel is based in Santa Barbara, but we need chaperones from all over California and neighboring states. Requirements include having a respect for people with disabilities, a love for travel, professional appearance and pleasant disposition, good communication skills, accurate attention to detail, able to drive, good health with ability to lift 50 pounds, strong stamina, and having a top-notch attitude. Further requirements will include: CPR/First aid certification, and criminal (police fingerprint) clearance, reference and background checks. All travel related expenses are paid for volunteers by New Directions.
