In this role, you will apply engineering principles and practice District traffic control programs to include traffic signals, temporary traffic control(signals), arterial traffic management, traffic engineering and safety studies, tort liability/risk management, and highway occupancy permits under the direction of the supervisor. This position has an emphasis on performing the design/permitting/construction support/operation functions associated with traffic signals, warning/school flashers, and advanced signal systems. Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration):
or Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists;
or Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an engineer-in-training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline;
or One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Special Requirement:
