Astrolab is looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations and foster a safe and sustainable work environment for our employees. As an EHS Manager, you will play a critical role in contributing to the safety and success of our organization as we embark on revolutionary space exploration ventures. What you'll do:
Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
Conduct risk assessments and evaluate hazards to identify potential safety and environmental concerns, implementing measures to mitigate risks and improve safety
Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, or near misses, providing recommendations and developing action plans to prevent recurrence and promote a safe working environment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety and environmental considerations into project planning, design, and implementation
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with established safety guidelines and protocols
Build, implement, and own training and educational programs to raise awareness and educate employees on safety practices, environmental responsibilities, and compliance requirements
Liaise with regulatory agencies, participate in audits, and maintain all required environmental permits and licenses
What you'll bring:
Bachelor's degree in safety/STEM OR 4+ years of experience in EHS related role
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar certifications are a plus
4+ years of experience in EHS, preferably in a manufacturing, engineering, or a technology-related industry
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and compliance requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change across an organization
