Acenda is a leading behavioral healthcare agency invested in staff wellness and providing quality services to individuals and families across New Jersey, and we are looking for a compassionate and skilled Supportive Visitation Counselor to join our dynamic team!
What You'll Do as a Counselor: Work as part of a supportive team
to enhance parent-child interactions and attachment, ensuring the safety and emotional well-being of children. Coordinate visits and assist in transporting children/parents to and from visits. Facilitate visits; supervising, coaching and empowering parents
to meet their children's physical, developmental, and emotional needs through meaningful visits. Ensure the safety of children
by modeling appropriate interactions between parents and children during visits. Facilitate collaborative visit planning meetings
with parents, visit participants, and relevant stakeholders to align on goals and strategies. Implement evidence-based services
and adjust intervention strategies as needed to align with family goals. Collaborate with peers, DCP&P, and other community providers
to ensure continuity of care and support for the family. Complete necessary documentation
in line with program and agency requirements. SVS Counselor Qualifications:
Associate's degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience with children and families, particularly families involved in the child welfare system or affected by trauma preferred. Must have knowledge of child development, trauma and effect on children and families Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract. Must have strong engaging, communication and collaboration skills Must have experience with crisis intervention and conflict resolution. Must be sensitive, flexible and responsive to gender, race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, religion, age, sexual orientation or any other special needs. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, use of an insured vehicle and an acceptable driving record. Preferred
Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, or social work from an accredited college or university with a minimum or 1 year experience with children and families What Acenda provides to SVS Counselors:
