District: Plano Community Unit School District 88 POSITION TITLE: Computer Technician

JOB GOAL: To support the use of technology as an instructional, learning, and administrative tool.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field 3 to 5 years of experience with hardware, software, and LANS/WANS. Good interpersonal skills. Resourceful and able to take initiative and guidance. Ability to maintain confidentiality and willingness to provide support outside of typical working hours. REPORTS TO: Network and Systems Specialist

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs tasks as assigned. Develops solutions for network, desktop, and server problems. Trouble shoots and resolves problems with software, hardware, and networking. Diagnose, repair, and optimize wired and wireless networks and switching solutions (appliances and software defined) and VLAN schemas. Ability to repair a variety of associated peripherals such as printers, phones, projectors, speakers, and other tools or device s. ?

Assists teachers with the use of technology hardware and software. Adjusts daily schedule in the best interest of students and staff members. Maintains logs of completed work and assists to develop, implement, and execute project plans and timelines. Demonstrates cooperation, courtesy and willingness to improve conditions and situations involving staff, parents, and students. Attends work regularly, dresses appropriately, is conscious of responsibilities, maintains confidentiality, and conducts tasks with integrity. Performs other duties as assigned.
