Job Description JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Internal Medicine Physician - Nocturnist • Job Type: Hospital-Employed • Location: Dothan, AL • Service Setting: Inpatient Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: 12 shifts/month, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults across all socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds • Patient Volume/Census: 9-10 patients per provider per night • Admissions: Yes • Rounding: Included • Phone Consults: Yes • Case Mix: Unassigned ED patients, transfers, inpatient consults, critical care admissions (co-managed)

FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 420-bed facility • Trauma Level: Level 2 • EMR System: EPIC • Office Equipment Available: Not specified • Specialty Backup Available: 24/7 subspecialty support including pulm/critical care and radiology • Support Staff Available: Full intensivist support, in-house radiologist, 3 other physicians available • Reason for Coverage: Expansion of hospitalist group

JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Must be licensed or eligible in Alabama • Certifications: Board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine • Experience: Internal Medicine residency trained • Other Qualifications: Experience with diverse patient populations preferred

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide overnight coverage for ED unassigned patients requiring admission • Co-manage critical care patients with intensivist support • Perform admissions, transfers, and inpatient consults • Work collaboratively with subspecialists and support teams • Participate in teaching through ACOM and ACGME residency programs
