Community Dental Assistant - Northeastern Colorado Schools
Performs those duties that assist the Community Hygienist(s), Dental Director(s), Dentist(s), and Dental Hygienist(s) in the care and treatment of patients, primarily at off-site dental screenings within schools in Northeastern Colorado.
From approximately
August to May
, the Community Dental Assistant will primarily be traveling to different schools in Northeastern Colorado to assist the Community Hygienist(s) with dental screenings and sealant placement. The Community Dental Assistant will order necessary supplies as needed for outreach. The Community Dental Assistant will help to schedule fall and spring outreach dates in a timely manner and coordinate this with the schools and the clinic. The Community Dental Assistant will input clinical findings from Offsite Screenings into our Electronic Health Record and assist other Salud sites with inputting their offsite screening data as needed. The Community Dental Assistant will be responsible for transportation
or
arranging transportation with the Community Hygienist to and from the off-site screenings.
During the summer months or when there is no community outreach occurring, the Community Dental Assistant will assist in the dental clinics in Sterling and Fort Morgan on an as-needed basis.
We offer:
$20.50 to $25 per hour
Mileage will be reimbursed for driving outside of Sterling, CO if using a personal vehicle. If a company vehicle is available, that will be used for outreach, and no mileage will be reimbursed.
5-day work week – Monday to Friday (August to May, and/or when school is in session)
Hours could range from 20-40 hours a week from September to April (hours could technically range from 0-20 hours during the summer months when no screenings are occurring)
Part-Time hours available

Duties:
Performs duties in the field of reception, chairside assisting, inventory, and records. The Dental Assistant approaches his/her task in a team-based care fashion that supports patients and their families in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change.
Qualifications: Qualifications

Education: **
Graduation from high school or equivalent is required
**
Experience: **
Previous dental assistant experience desired, but not required
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required
Licensure/Certification:
Current valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
