Breathing Air Systems currently has openings for Entry Level Service Technicians at our Chattanooga TN location. Mechanical hands-on experience and willingness to work directly with our customers is required. This position will provide specific training for the repair and maintenance of high-pressure air compressors and related control systems in the Fire Fighting, Scuba, Paintball, and military industries. As a Service Technician there is significant travel per month which a service vehicle is provided for all work related duties. Daily interaction with customers is expected and the ability to interact positively with customers is required. Experience with compressed air systems or the Fire Fighting Industry is a plus but not required.
Essential Job Functions
Receives weekly assignments for maintenance scheduling.
Maintenance technicians usually have 4 overnights per week during maintenance as we cover 7 states from our Ohio location which results in significant overtime.
Ability to diagnose and repair problems encountered from a variety of breathing air systems, including major overhaul.
Completes appropriate documentation of work, including, parts used, labor and mileage associated with each assignment.
Completes work tickets for invoicing the customer in a timely manner.
Breathing Air Systems pays for all training/certifications.
Manages a parts inventory assigned to assigned business vehicle. Documents the movement of all parts between the Service Department warehouse and assigned vehicle
Responsible for inspection and maintenance of assigned vehicle.
Maintains situational awareness and is knowledgeable of safe working practices associated with essential job functions.
Non-essential Job Functions
Technical skills sufficient to accomplish basic computing both in the office and the field.
Completing maintenance and service calls Via Tablet.
Basic electrical skills to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Knowledge of applicable NFPA Standards relating to compressors and breathing air quality.
Requirements
Must possess a valid Driver’s license with clean driving record
Maintain certification as a Bauer Breathing Air Systems Technician.
Physical abilities sufficient to perform field maintenance requirements.
Submit to a drug test and background check
Other Skills/Abilities
Ability to communicate orally and in writing with customers.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
Mechanical skills sufficient to perform repairs and maintenance to a variety of Breathing Air Systems and related components.
