Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Geotechnical Engineer to conduct site investigations, perform field testing, and analyze laboratory data related to soil, rock, and groundwater conditions. This role involves geotechnical analysis and design for various structures and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities
Conduct site investigations and perform field testing.
Analyze soil, rock, and groundwater conditions in laboratory settings.
Perform geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, earthworks, slope stability, and retaining structures.
Prepare comprehensive technical reports, geotechnical recommendations, and design calculations.
Interpret geotechnical data to support infrastructure design and construction.
Collaborate with civil, structural, and environmental engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
Monitor construction sites to ensure the correct implementation of geotechnical designs.
Assist in preparing project proposals, cost estimates, and timelines.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain it is a plus.
2+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering or related roles.
Proficiency with geotechnical analysis software.
Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and slope stability.
Excellent communication, report writing, and project management skills.
Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with deep foundation design and ground improvement techniques.
Knowledge of environmental regulations and geotechnical risk assessments.
Familiarity with GIS and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).
Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
EIT certification preferred.
