Sr Functional Safety Engineer

Shift: 6:30am to 5pm (Monday - Friday)
45.00 to 56.00 per hour
Responsibilities
You will also be an active participant in equipment acceptance testing and commissioning as well as evaluating proposed changes to equipment and machinery for safety requirements. Work with engineering, operations and equipment vendors for design and commissioning activities Develop equipment safety standards where needed and continuously improve existing standards Complete Risk Assessments in accordance with ISO 12100 and *** standards Conduct Equipment Safety Buyoffs with a cross-functional team Identify safety opportunities and suggest corrective actions for continuous improvement Create and deliver training related to equipment and machinery safety Maintain detailed records of equipment compliance Work with department EHS staff to support as needed Participate in learning teams, investigations, inspections, audits, etc. as needed
Required
Demonstrated familiarity with mechanical, electrical, automation, and control system design Experience with ANSI, UL, NFPA, ISO and other applicable standards Experience interpreting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic safety circuits and evaluating performance level & circuit structure Comprehensive knowledge of electrical circuit design in accordance with NEC, UL 508a, and NFPA 79
Preferred
Certified Functional Safety Professional CFSP/CFSE Certified Machine Safety Expert Experience in Battery/EV Manufacturing
MOST IMPORTANT SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES
