Zobility
Position Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to join the Vehicle Propulsion System Engineering (VPSE) team.
In this role, you will develop and apply physics-based and data-driven system models to support calibration use cases in Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments.
You will work closely with calibration, design, test, and research teams to ensure robust and accurate propulsion system validation across EV, HEV, and ICE platforms.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in propulsion system modeling, calibration processes, and automation, with strong skills in simulation tools and programming.
Responsibilities:
Develop and apply system-level analytical models (mechanical, electrical, thermal domains) for propulsion calibration use cases in SIL/HIL environments. Validate models through verification, correlation, and testing to ensure fidelity, accuracy, and execution speed. Collaborate with SIL/HIL integration engineers to meet interface and use-case requirements. Partner with D&R and test engineers to obtain data for parameterization and model validation. Transfer new technology models from research into production programs. Standardize, automate, and improve modeling processes for program robustness. Document work and present results to technical forums. Skills Required:
Transmissions, CAE, Programming, Machine Learning, Systems Engineering, MATLAB modeling, Mechanical Engineering, Simulations Experience Required:
BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field. Academic/professional experience in propulsion systems development with calibration process understanding. Academic/professional experience developing and testing analytical propulsion system models. Proficiency with 1D system simulation tools (e.g., Dymola, Simulink, GT-Suite, Amesim, Flomaster). Strong programming skills in MATLAB/Simulink and scripting/automation (MATLAB, Python). Excellent communication and presentation skills. Experience Preferred:
MS/PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering. 5+ years of propulsion systems modeling and calibration experience. Knowledge of EV, HEV, and ICE propulsion components and system interactions. Experience with thermal management system simulation (powertrain & cabin). Familiarity with machine learning techniques for reduced-order modeling (e.g., neural networks). Experience with version control systems (GitHub). Knowledge of GPDS and calibration milestones. Education Required:
Master's Degree, Bachelor's Degree Education Preferred:
Doctorate
We offer attractive, competitive compensation and benefits including, medical, dental, 401k, short-term disability, AD&D, tuition reimbursement, and more. If you take pride in your work and are committed to personal and professional success, let's talk. Please visit www.zobility.com to learn more.
