Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations across the organization. Supports production and other departments by minimizing downtime, maintaining a professional and safe working environment, and implementing effective maintenance programs. This role may also include supervisory responsibilities, directing the workload and performance of the Maintenance department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of machinery, production lines, mechanical systems, and general facility equipment.
Maintain and repair systems involving hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronics, and plumbing.
Perform building maintenance and construction, including HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) upkeep.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, technical documents, operational instructions, blueprints, and schematics to diagnose and perform accurate repairs.
Conduct regular preventive maintenance, including oiling, cleaning, calibration, and inspection of equipment.
Operate and maintain diagnostic and testing tools safely and effectively.
Troubleshoot and repair CNC controls and Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) as needed.
Support and lead equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvement projects.
Conduct visual inspections, operational tests, and performance checks on machinery, vehicles, and physical facilities.
Identify and resolve equipment issues by collaborating with production teams and other maintenance personnel.
Safely operate tow motors and other company vehicles; maintain a valid driver’s license for company use.
Research, order, and manage parts inventory to support maintenance operations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs, reports, and ISO documentation.
Train associates and conduct certifications (e.g., tow motor operation).
Oversee and implement facility and janitorial maintenance programs, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe workplace.
Actively participate in safety programs, performing regular inspections and housekeeping checks.
Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and customers to ensure maintenance needs are met.
Provide leadership and supervision within the Maintenance department, including planning, scheduling, training, performance management, and problem resolution (for roles with supervisory responsibilities).
Attend and contribute to meetings with concise and relevant updates.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting; supervisory experience for leadership roles.
Journeyman Card, certifications, or advanced technical training is a plus.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and controls.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with associates, vendors, and management.
Ability to perform basic mathematical concepts (fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions) and apply them in practical situations.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle tools and equipment.
Ability to work in confined spaces, on the production floor, and occasionally at offsite company locations.
Exposure to chemicals, noise, and varying production floor conditions.
Must comply with company lifting limitations and safety standards.
Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
