Position Summary
The Clinical Support Coordinator is responsible for overseeing CNA scheduling, supervising Lead CNAs, coordinating with Patient Care Coordinators (PCCs), and managing patient supply ordering. This role ensures effective alignment of staffing resources and clinical supplies with patient care needs, serving as a central hub of operational support for the hospice team. By balancing staff coordination and supply management, the Clinical Support Coordinator helps ensure continuity, efficiency, and quality in patient care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain CNA schedules to ensure consistent coverage and continuity of care across assigned service areas.
Provide oversight and direction to Lead CNAs in their scheduling and assignment responsibilities.
Collaborate with PCCs and Directors of Clinical Services (DCS) to align staffing with patient census, acuity, and organizational priorities.
Manage scheduling adjustments for PTO, call-ins, and emergent needs, communicating changes clearly and promptly.
Oversee the ordering, tracking, and distribution of patient care supplies, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective use of resources.
Serve as a central contact for staff regarding both scheduling and supply needs, escalating issues when appropriate.
Maintain accurate documentation of schedules and supply orders in applicable systems.
Monitor staffing and supply utilization trends, reporting data to clinical leadership for operational planning.
Support onboarding and orientation for new CNAs, particularly regarding scheduling and supply processes.
Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings as needed to ensure staffing and supply needs are aligned with patient care plans.
Ensure compliance with hospice policies, state/federal regulations, and company standards related to staffing and supplies.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of healthcare scheduling or operations experience; hospice or home health strongly preferred.
Experience with inventory or supply management is highly desirable.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
Proficiency with scheduling systems, EMR platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines in a fast-paced environment.
