Psychiatric NursePractitioner. The Nurse Practitioner works with agency clients in the FairviewProgram. The Nurse Practitioner position serves as a direct care provider forbehavioral health services and primary care for clients (ASAM III.5). Clientsin this program require medical assessment and oversite during their treatment.
Responsibilitiesand Duties
It is the duty and responsibilityof the Nurse Practitioner to: • provide direct care to patients within the Scope of Practice forwhich the provider is licensed; • manages patient care under Best Practices, UDS recommendations,and as prescribed to maintain accreditation; • conduct thorough documentation of visits and medical orders tosupport billing charges; • complete billing components of visit to optimize revenue withindictated time frames; • oversee care delivered by medical support staff by providingfeedback on immediate care activities and reporting to direct supervisor onconcerns that expose the agency or endanger a patient's health outcomes; • participate in webinars and conference calls relative to assignedprogram; • implement and manage Best Practices initiated by QualityImprovement/Quality Assurance staff; • identify and prioritize medical decision making with a fiscallyminded approach to care; • coordinate and supervise the completion of daily tasks related todirect patient care on matters related to Health Outcomes i.e. referrals, laborders, lab review, medical records review; • organize and implement work flow strategies to support providervisits, billing and patient care as part of feedback to Program Manager duringsupervision; • coordinate with Quality Improvement Program Manager inimplementation of Quality Assurance measures to ensure data integrity andoutcomes are met; • assure support staff document all pertinent health relatedinformation in the client's electronic medical chart as instructed and as partof standards of practice designed to improve patient care, support billing, andmeet Quality Improvement goals; • observe Occupational Safety and Health Administration during allelements of daily operations, including but not limited to phlebotomy, in-housetesting, medical interventions, medical waste and managing infection control; • observe Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Actcompliance; and • perform other duties as assigned.
Administrative Duties andResponsibilities:
It is the duty and responsibilityof the Nurse Practitioner to: • meet regularly for One on One meetings with the Program Manager; • participate in regularly scheduled Program meetings; • respond to the Chief Medical Officer as needed; • ensure timely completion of all assigned administrative reports; • keep licensure current and meet credential requirements asrequested; • meet with the Chief Medical Officer on the practice and update asneeded on trends, changes, alerts, concerns, and any matter which impactspatient care, services rendered, or billing when asked to do so; • attend continuing education programs that provide updatedinformation on health topics pertinent to caring for patients and effectiveclinic practice; • participate in design, implementation, and support of QualityImprovement/Quality Assurance initiatives within the setting; and • perform other duties as assigned.
Qualificationsand Skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications include thefollowing: Master's Degree in Nursing Science Active, unencumbered PMHNP license in the state of LA with prescriptive authority Current good standing with regulating National Certifying Board Current CPR certification Minimum 1 year clinical experience Electronic Health Records experience Proficient in MS Office 365 Suite Excellent communication skills Ability to exercise patience, approachability and consistency in a high stress environment PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications includethe following:
FQHC and medical home model knowledge Suboxone certification
