Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, STABLE Certification Must-Have: LDR experience Ability to circulate in the OR Experience with titrating Pitocin and Insulin Description: The role involves working in a Labor and Delivery unit with a focus on maternal and newborn care. Experience in high-risk pregnancies, including conditions such as preeclampsia, previa, and managing twins is essential. The unit consists of 16 L&D beds and 13 Antepartum beds. There are 3 OR suites designated for C-sections and 8 triage beds available. Postpartum care is also provided with 32 beds available on a different floor. The unit has a significant volume, with approximately 4,194 deliveries recorded in the past year. Nurses are expected to adhere to guidelines for patient ratios. Collaboration with obstetricians and neonatologists is part of the daily routine, as both are available 24/7. Anesthesia services are also available round the clock. Nurses will engage in initial resuscitation until NICU staff arrives. There are no Tele/Monitor Technicians, so RNs must be able to read their own strips. The charting system utilized is Epic Systems Corporation - EpicCare Inpatient - EMR. Nurses will be required to float to different units as needed. The dress code consists of supplied scrubs. The role demands flexibility for weekend and holiday scheduling, depending on unit needs. Travelers may occasionally float to an Antepartum unit. This position supports a dynamic and collaborative environment, ensuring high standards of care for mothers and infants.
