Tessera is seeking a confident and capable Controls Technician who takes pride in precision, problem-solving, and purposeful work. In this role, you’ll be entrusted with maintaining and optimizing building automation and HVAC control systems across critical facilities. Your expertise ensures smooth operations, energy efficiency, and system reliability—making you an essential part of Tessera’s commitment to excellence. Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Install and maintain building automation and HVAC control systems
Troubleshoot and repair system faults to ensure performance and efficiency
Monitor and adjust system settings to improve reliability
Perform preventive maintenance on control panels and wiring
Respond to service calls and system alerts
Interpret technical diagrams and manuals for repairs and installations
Document service activities and system configurations
Collaborate with engineers and facility staff on upgrades and compliance
Support emergency operations and train junior staff as neede
Qualifications:
1–3 years of experience in building automation systems, HVAC controls, or electrical troubleshooting
Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, or a related discipline preferred
Technical training or certification in HVAC, building automation, or electrical systems strongly preferred
Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls
Experience with direct digital controls (DDC), PLC programming, SCADA systems, and automation protocols such as BACnet and Modbus
Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical circuits, and low-voltage electronics
Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
