Job Description
The Committee of Interns and Residents is hiring a Data and Dues Associate located either in California or in one of the following cities: Albuquerque, Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul or Seattle to join the Operations team. This position is responsible for the accuracy, efficiency and retrieval of processed data and plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of the Union. The Data and Dues Associate will report to the Data Systems Director.
Job Responsibilities
Generate a minimum of 32 dues reconciliation reports/hospital receipts per month
Collect, record, and track SEIU COPE contributions using Quickbooks, Novus and Google spreadsheet
Actively review and correct records within CIR’s computer database system
Retrieve and generate reports from large sets of data
Clean data sets using Excel formulas
Summarize reports for upper management in verbal or written format
Identify areas of improvement to suggest modifications
Follow up with appropriate individuals at hospitals to discuss any discrepancies with received data
Gather, summarize, and report back on the work status of team assignments
Identify potential best practices and share with the team
Work with managers to create short term and long term work plans
Database Operations
Utilize database systems (including customer-relationship management systems) to enter data, generate reports, create sign-in sheets, and to create bills
Convert files with the appropriate software
Data Analysis
Analyze dues reports from employers using Excel functions such as vlookup and summarize key findings verbally and on a written report or spreadsheet.
Compare financial amounts set forth in multiple reports and identify the differences set forth in said reports.
Additional duties as may be assigned.
CIR is Looking for Someone With:
Strong communications skills (oral and written) to effectively converse with all levels of staff, physicians and hospital administrators in a professional manner.
Self-motivated with a focus on completing goals and tasks and a desire to grow in both responsibility and scope of work.
Proficiency with Google products such as Gmail and Google Drive (Docs and Sheets)
Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
4+ years of experience manipulating large data sets preferred
Ability to engage in repetitive typing and must possess speedy and accurate data entry skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite; Excel formulas (such as vlookup, pivot tables, and SUM)
Strong working knowledge of relational database management systems preferred (Novus)
Possesses strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment
Business hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm; punctuality and reliability is a must
Flexible to work outside of normal business hours to accommodate the needs of the union
Demonstrated ability to contribute to creating a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages personal responsibility and initiative
Demonstrated interest in the work and the membership
Must be fully vaccinated for Covid in accordance with CDC guidelines, subject to any laws of the state in which the applicant resides.
