Student Intern - IT GIS & Compliance (HDQ)

This temporary position assists the GCM team with supporting the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of GIS and Compliance systems. This position will analyze business processes, and provide user support. They will collaborate with IT professionals and business users to enhance the system's functionality and alignment with organizational goals. The incumbent will gain exposure to Cooperative operations and practices while supporting teams with hands-on tasks and assignments appropriate to their field of study. Essential duties include: assisting in the collection, storage, and management of geospatial and compliance data; providing technical support for GIS and Compliance software; working closely with IT teams, GIS specialists, and compliance officers; participating in IT-related projects; supporting system patching and upgrades; assisting with the preparation of training materials; researching emerging technologies; learning and applying GIS and Compliance best practices; participating in meetings with business stakeholders; and following safety, security, and procedural guidelines. Minimum qualifications include being at least 18 years of age; being enrolled as a full-time student in a two-year Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline with at least one year completed or recent graduate; maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.5; holding a valid drivers license; and providing a transcript at the time of application. Preferred qualifications include previous internship or relevant work experience and additional certifications or coursework in the field of study. This position requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking; occasional reaching below and above shoulder level, use of keyboard/computer, bending, kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. It also requires finger dexterity, good hearing, and color vision, the ability to perform close work, and the ability to speak. The incumbent must be able to analyze data and reports, conduct research, and implement recommendations. This position occasionally works in conditions of dirt and dust, fumes, chemicals, extreme heat and cold, vibration, and noise. Key skills include effective written and verbal communication, proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, research and analytical thinking, organization and attention to detail, team collaboration, initiative and adaptability, confidentiality and professionalism, fieldwork or technical hands-on aptitude, and compliance with safety procedures. Wage: $21 - $23/hour
