DUTIES
Volunteers should have a desire to learn new tasks and to follow directions that are given.
Volunteers should be dependable and have the ability to work in a multi-task environment.
Volunteers will assist with the needs of the donation program, which may include sorting, packing, pricing, distributing, and selling.
Volunteers will work on an as scheduled basis.
Volunteers will complete tasks as assigned by the WomenSafe representative, Donations Coordinator, and/or Resale Shoppe Clerk.
Volunteers will provide socialization to donors and shoppers by engaging in light conversation.
When providing transportation assistance, volunteer must have valid driver’s license in their volunteer file.
QUALIFICATIONS
Volunteers must be dependable to work scheduled shifts. Volunteers must have a pleasant disposition and the ability to work with a variety of people on a team approach. Heavy lifting may be required. Notify supervisor of any concerns. TRAINING
A training session on WomenSafe protocol is not required but is highly recommended. Volunteers may attend the volunteer orientation/training session. Topics include why victims stay, predictors of a potential abuser, personalized safety planning, client rights and confidentiality, and agency protocol. Training to complete duties at the Resale Shoppe will be learned on site (at the Chesterland location) as appropriate to interest by the Resale Shoppe Manager, and/or Resale Shoppe Clerks. Training to complete donations duties will be completed (at the Green House location) with the Donations Coordinator. SUPERVISION
The Resale Shoppe Manager, and/or Resale Shoppe Clerks will supervise Volunteers at the Resale Shoppe. The Donations Coordinator, and/or a WomenSafe Representative will supervise Volunteers at the Green House location.
