Homecare - Hospice Assignment Length:
13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025, End: 1/19/2026) Shift:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Day Shift) Hours per Week:
40 No weekends, no on-call required Orientation:
Bi-weekly, 48 hours Patient Population:
Adults and Geriatrics Number of Visits per Day:
5 Scrub Color:
Any Flu Vaccine:
Required (no exemptions) Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (must be in hand) Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher BLS certification (in hand at time of submission) Minimum 2 years of RN experience At least 1 year of hospice field experience required Experience with EMR documentation (McKesson preferred) 1 supervisory reference within the last year Strong skills in cultural awareness, home health/hospice, spiritual needs assessment, and perideath care of family Flu vaccine required (no exemptions or declinations accepted) Hospice RN Responsibilities
Provide routine and PRN hospice visits, including admissions, recertification, and time of death visits Perform comprehensive physical assessments, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and symptom management Document all care and communication in the EMR system Coordinate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including social services and interpretation services Utilize specialized medical equipment such as PCA pumps, feeding pumps, Macy catheters, Pleurx/Aspira drains, ports, PICCs, CVLs, Trilogy, and CPAP Support patients and families through end-of-life care, addressing spiritual and emotional needs
