The Boeing Company is seeking a highly skilled professional to become a member of the AvionX Engineering team serving as an Electronics Design Engineer (Lead or Senior) in Huntsville, AL. The AvionX Engineer will work with a multi-skilled, multi-disciplined team of engineers in the execution of complex technical hardware and firmware development of avionics products in accordance with both commercial and defense customer requirements, business objectives, and Boeing processes. The role will provide detailed technical design execution to ensure program technical, schedule and cost constraints are met. Find your future with us. The Huntsville AvionX Power and Embedded Controls Team develop Electronic Designs, build, test and deliver Electronic/Electrical products and provide engineering solutions for a variety of the company's government and commercial programs across the world, including commercial and government avionics, space exploration, and multiple military programs. The team is responsible for Electrical/Electronic Hardware, Test Equipment, Avionics, Smart Battery System and Wire Harness Design. This position has been identified as an on-site opportunity and requires applicants to live locally. Candidates must be able to travel domestically up to 10% of their time. Position Responsibilities: Provides technical depth and ensure common practices are in place across programs and product lines within AvionX Develop complex yet innovative HW design solutions for DoD, Commercial and NASA Programs Proficient use of Mentor Graphics or comparable PWB/PWA schematic capture, layout and routing tools Interface with other AvionX engineers, project engineers, project leads and program management to execute program goals, objectives, projects and initiatives Provide cross-functional technical execution, communication, process adherence, and process improvements Experienced Flight HW design/development for NASA, Commercial and/or DoD Programs Architect and manage automated test equipment design/development Chairs and/or participate in AvionX Change Control Boards (CCB), Readiness Reviews, Design reviews etc. Execute engineering tasks, projects, special assignments, and other activities required to support program engineering leadership and/or Customer(s) Provide direct/indirect support to all AvionX stakeholders and customers Provides mentoring and coaching to all IPT leads and employees Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry 8+ years of experience in new technology or product/capability development 8+ years of experience with technical development of commercial airplane or defense systems 8+ years of experience work on aerospace hardware/software design projects 8+ years of experience leading through influencing and partnering with cross-functional teams on project and initiatives Proficient use of Mentor Graphics or comparable PWB/PWA schematic capture, layout and routing tools Experience communicating with senior managers and executives, customers (internal and external), business partners / suppliers / subcontractors, and government representatives Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 12+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelors, Master's, or Doctorate degree in an engineering field (Electrical) Knowledgeable of Engineering processes and tools required to complete requirements development, hardware integration, verification, certification, leading into production and support services. Expert in providing directly and/or obtaining subject matter experts for firmware engineering technical oversight of multiple concurrently executing development programs from feature identification through entry into service and product support. Demonstrated ability to engage collaboratively with management, technical fellows, teammates, suppliers, and customers while upholding high quality and safety standards Familiar with hardware and software development tools, processes and standards. Experience in EE analysis Tools. Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), including developing Quantifiable Backup Data (QBD) and Control Account Management (CAM) Experience with developing proposals, including developing budgets and a resource loaded schedule.
