Data Analyst
Selectek is partnering with a leading engineering and technical services provider to hire a Data Analyst who can turn raw operational data into clear, actionable insights. You'll build dashboards, reports, and data modelsprimarily in Power BI with Excel as your day-to-day data "workbench." This is a new position with immediate impact: you'll help standardize messy legacy datasets and stand up scalable reporting for leaders and project managers. What You'll Do Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and paginated reports. Develop and optimize star/snowflake data models; write robust DAX and shape data with Power Query. Use Excel (advanced formulas, pivots, lookups; macros preferred) to clean, transform, reconcile, and stage data. Consolidate large datasets from multiple sources; improve data quality, integrity, and consistency across platforms. Translate business questions into technical requirements; deliver timely, insight-driven recommendations. Partner with operations and leadership to define KPIs/metrics and enable decision-making. Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline recurring reporting. Ensure documentation for data definitions, report usage, refresh cadence, and change control. Required Qualifications 15 years in a dedicated data analysis or BI/reporting role. Strong Power BI skills (data modeling, DAX, Power Query, report building). Advanced Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups; macros/VBA a plus). Solid analytical, problem-solving, and data cleansing skills. Excellent communication skills; able to present complex information clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Non-negotiable: Hands-on proficiency with Power BI and Excel. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business, Information Systems, or related field. Experience creating KPI frameworks for operations, engineering, utilities, or field services environments.
