Overview
ABM Industries is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Facility Coordinator to support maintenance operations and overall facility management across George Washington University's MVC and VSTC campuses. This role ensures the efficient operation of building systems-including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance-while managing vendor relationships, coordinating service requests, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
Manage the facility ticketing system and ensure timely resolution of service requests.
Schedule and coordinate routine and preventive maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and ensure optimal facility performance.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular facility inspections.
Maintain and update emergency preparedness plans.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire codes, and other relevant safety regulations.
Vendor & Contractor Management
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for maintenance and repair services.
Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
Monitor vendor performance and ensure service delivery meets expectations.
Inventory & Supplies
Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
Order and restock essential items while maintaining budget efficiency.
Coordination & Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for facility-related concerns.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth building operations.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, expenses, and vendor contracts.
Additional Duties
Assist with payroll and time documentation collection.
Support the Facilities and Maintenance offices as needed.
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum 2 years in facility coordination, property management, or a related field.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with HVAC systems, building maintenance, and safety regulations.
Skills:
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
Technical Proficiency:
Experience with CMMS work ticketing systems.
Vendor Management:
Proven ability to manage and evaluate vendor relationships.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00/hourly
