Specialty: Medical Assistant Schedule: (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu) 08:00am to 17:30pm (Fri) 08:00am to 12:00pm Location: Greenwood Village, CO Job Description: Job Description: Answering calls and scheduling appointments in Epic which may require creating a medical identity if the patient is new Scheduling appointments in person or by telephone, send reminders and follow up on no-shows. Receive and convey messages electronically, in writing and verbally Schedule appointments according to office scheduling policies Interact effectively with staff and clients to maintain a professional working environment. Mark patients accordingly in Patient Tracking System Follow policy related to cashier functions Discuss & interpret patient balance information within the guidelines of the office's collection policy. Brings patient into exam room, obtains brief history of complaints, prepares patient for exam and takes vital sign. Performs patient and family education, counseling, and teaching. Performs clerical work consisting of, referrals, scheduling appointments with other physicians and facilities, filling out forms, and answering phones. Assists with exam and procedures as needed. Stock rooms, takes care of instruments and autoclaves equipment. Assists in the orientation of personnel, with emphasis on nursing aspects. Gives injections. Attends staff meetings and in-services. Assumes charge position as required in absence of supervisory personnel. Performs other duties/projects as assigned, or required Qualifications: Education: Certification as Medical Assistant, or 1 year preferred Experience: 1 year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience Licenses/Certifications: CPR and first aid certification required; certification as a medical assistant (CMA) preferred Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Verbal: Comfortable communicating with patients of all ages and ethnic backgrounds Active listening, social perceptiveness Monitoring of patient vitals with clear and concise documentation Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, comfortable with computers, typing skills Must be able to work in fast paced environment.
