Schedule : (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu) 08:00am to 17:30pm; Fri 08:00am to 12:00pm

Location : Greenwood Village, CO

Job Description : Answering calls and scheduling appointments in Epic which may require creating a medical identity if the patient is new. Scheduling appointments in person or by telephone, sending reminders and following up on no-shows. Receive and convey messages electronically, in writing and verbally. Schedule appointments according to office scheduling policies. Interact effectively with staff and clients to maintain a professional working environment. Mark patients accordingly in Patient Tracking System. Follow policy related to cashier functions. Discuss & interpret patient balance information within the guidelines of the office's collection policy.

Responsibilities

• Brings patient into exam room, obtains brief history of complaints, prepares patient for exam and takes vital signs.
• Performs patient and family education, counseling, and teaching.
• Performs clerical work consisting of referrals, scheduling appointments with other physicians and facilities, filling out forms, and answering phones.
• Assists with exam and procedures as needed.
• Stocks rooms, takes care of instruments and autoclaves equipment.
• Assists in the orientation of personnel, with emphasis on nursing aspects.
• Gives injections.
• Attends staff meetings and in-services.
• Assumes charge position as required in absence of supervisory personnel.
• Performs other duties / projects as assigned, or required.

Qualifications

• Education : Certification as Medical Assistant, or 1 year preferred
• Experience : 1 year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Licenses / Certifications : CPR and first aid certification required; certification as a medical assistant (CMA) preferred
• Knowledge and Skill Requirements :
• Verbal : Comfortable communicating with patients of all ages and ethnic backgrounds
• Active listening, social perceptiveness
• Monitoring of patient vitals with clear and concise documentation
• Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, comfortable with computers, typing skills
• Must be able to work in fast paced environment.
• High School diploma - Required
• BLS (AHA); CPR, 1st Aid -Required
