Location: Holy Name Catholic School - Coffeyville (High-Needs School) Position Purpose Maintain the buildings and grounds of the Holy Name Catholic Church Campus consisting of School, Church, Rectory and Convent in a safe, clean, orderly, and fully operable condition. Starting Salary $40,000-$45,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform tasks to keep buildings and grounds clean and orderly, including trash removal, restroom cleaning, floor care, window washing, dusting, mowing, snow and ice removal, and related tasks. Perform minor repairs and maintenance as needed to maintain safe and operable facilities. Inspect equipment and facilities regularly and recommend repairs or replacements to the supervisor. Regulate heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for seasonal comfort and efficient utility use. Maintain and service motors and other mechanical equipment according to schedule. Check and secure all building entrances/exits, doors, and windows before leaving. Open and close buildings as needed. Obtain and maintain tools, equipment, and materials necessary for assigned work. Maintain inventory of supplies and place orders to ensure smooth operations. Keep accurate records of work performed and repairs completed. Perform other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Equipment Used Uses hand tools and power equipment common to carpentry, electrical, and plumbing trades, including saws, drills, sanders, routers, planers, and similar tools.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of tools, materials, methods, and procedures for basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. Familiarity with applicable building codes and safety regulations. Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions, work orders, and diagrams. Ability to perform basic arithmetic for measurements and supply tracking. Ability to communicate maintenance needs clearly to supervisor and document work performed. Ability to troubleshoot problems and identify when to call specialized experts. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, parishioners, and visitors.
Safety Requirements
Follow all applicable safety rules, procedures, and regulations. Use proper safety gear and equipment when performing tasks.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Ability to work at heights, in crawl spaces, and in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow). Ability to perform occasional strenuous physical tasks. Ability to safely use tools and equipment associated with maintenance work.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated experience in building and grounds maintenance and repair. Valid driver's license and ability to provide own transportation if required.
