Level III Obstetrical Unit, Level II Trauma Center Contract Duration:
13 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 - End: 3/2/2026) Nursing Shifts:
Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18:30 - 07:00); 36 or 48 hours/week contracts available Guaranteed Hours:
36 or 48 hours per week Estimated Weekly Salary:
$2010-$2160 Orientation:
Three days in the first week (Monday-Wednesday) Unit Details:
Labor & Delivery/Postpartum (400+ births in summer, 19 L&D beds, 10 antepartum beds, 30 postpartum beds) Charting System:
EPIC Parking:
Facility paid Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery and Postpartum RN experience (prefer experience in facilities with 200+ deliveries; will consider 100-200 deliveries) Active Washington RN license or Compact State RN license Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP (AWHONN Advanced and Relias Fetal Monitoring also accepted) EPIC charting experience required Ability to perform sterile vaginal exams (SVE) Ability to float between Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) References: Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment in comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years Travel nurse candidates only (must reside >50 miles from facility) Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to laboring mothers, newborns, and postpartum patients in a fast-paced, high-volume unit Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including high-risk obstetric cases Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and provide breastfeeding/lactation support Administer medications and therapies such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using EFM and IUPC Manage postpartum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, and other obstetric emergencies Float to postpartum and antepartum units as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including providers, surgical techs, CNAs, and support staff Document care and interventions accurately in EPIC Participate in patient education and discharge teaching for parents
