JOB SUMMARY:
We're hiring a Traveling Forestry Technician who will also take on Traveling Field Specialist responsibilities as the seasons shift. This role offers a unique opportunity to work outdoors year-round, managing vegetation and supporting utility infrastructure across diverse landscapes. In warmer months, the focus is on herbicide application and vegetation control. During cooler seasons, the role transitions to travel-based field inspections, tree inventories, and public outreach. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions: Conduct field surveys and inspections to assess vegetation health, growth patterns, and potential risks to infrastructure. Apply herbicides and other treatments to control invasive species and unwanted vegetation, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as herbicide sprayers, trucks, and field tools. Collect and manage vegetation and tree inventory data, including hazard tree evaluations and control efficacy monitoring. Coordinate and book travel logistics for field assignments, including lodging and scheduling. Communicate with property owners, public agencies, and contractors regarding vegetation management plans, pruning, and removals. Plan and oversee vegetation-related work for contractors, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Participate in research and development projects such as lidar inspections and habitat sustainability initiatives. Maintain accurate records of field activities, treatments, and inspections. Respond to emergency vegetation-related incidents and support utility restoration efforts. Promote awareness of invasive species and integrated vegetation management practices to the public. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrains, often in remote or rural areas. Follow all company policies and procedures, and actively contribute to a culture of safety and employee ownership. OTHER DUTIES:

Position will require travel to, from and between work sites. Safely operate trucks, ATVs, UTVs JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred 1 year experience in vegetation management. State pesticide applicators license (any state) Must possess a Valid Drivers. Applicant must pass pre-employment drug screening. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to acquire the required State pesticide applicator license Ability to work outside and in a range of weather conditions Possesses the ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis. Organization of equipment before, during and after shifts as needed. Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast paced, and ever-changing environment. Self-motivated and the ability to work well individually and as part of a team. Ability to prioritize competing tasks as new situations continue to emerge. Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors Decision making, organizational, and time management skills Demonstrate excellent focus on rapport-building, listening, questioning and patience. Communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
