Eaglecrest Ski Area is seeking a Marketing Manager to join our team.
The Eaglecrest Marketing & Events Manager should be enthusiastic, motivated, and ready to represent Eaglecrest in the support of developing and supporting marketing communications regarding Eaglecrest activities and events. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Under general supervision of the Director of Base Operations, this position will be responsible for planning, directing, and creating marketing materials and content for Eaglecrest outlets. This includes web updates, social media content creation, advertising through our radio and web partners, newsletters and assisting other departments as necessary. The ideal candidate is ready to promote Eaglecrest in the office and out on the slopes, ready to take pictures or videos daily, and is enthusiastic about working for our ski area. Juneau is a small community of 30,000 people that is passionate about their outdoor lifestyle especially skiing and snowboarding. HOURS AND LOCATION
You will be working out of the Marketing Office in Fish Creek Lodge at Eaglecrest Ski Area. During the winter season you will typically be working Wednesday through Sunday 8:00am to 4:00pm, during summer season; Monday through Thursday 7:00am-5:00pm and will offer more flexibility on scheduling.
Overtime will be mandatory during holiday periods. Typical Responsibilities This position is responsible for creating & directing the department's annual and long-term marketing and events plans. Throughout the year you will be the voice of the mountain, providing guests with Eaglecrest's promotional information and content. You will be able to capture the enthusiasm around skiing and riding at Eaglecrest and sharing it. Leading the Marketing Coordinator in the creation of content for social media and web updates, creative writing, conditions reporting and updating, customer service requests, taking pictures or videos out on the mountain almost daily, and planning events.
Training will be provided to ensure you become proficient in our user interfaces. Developing new revenue streams strengthening and growing our winter activities both locally and within the ski/snowboard industry. Also, the development of summer recreation opportunities (for Juneau residents and tourists) that generate revenue year-round. Assisting multiple departments depending on day-to-day operations and should be flexible and ready to adjust to constant changes on the mountain.
Communication through reading, writing, and over the phone are crucial for this position to succeed.
Minimum Qualifications Experience:
Four years of marketing, advertising, and/or event planning experience that included creating and editing multi-media products (photo/video editing; creating flyers and advertising material). Substitution:
Post-secondary classes in a related field (ex. marketing, communications, business; journalism) from an accredited college may substitute for two years of experience on the basis of 2.5 semester hours (3.75 quarter hours) of credit for one month of experience.
