The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and execution of tooling and manufacturing data for the operations business.

Leverage experience in developing best practices, tooling process improvements, and new product tooling implementation. Design, develop, and execute tooling for complex engine hardware and critical components. Own technical aspects of assigned components/processes from concept through production. Collaborate cross-functionally to meet cost, performance, and durability goals. Lead tooling design and analysis with emphasis on manufacturability and operator usability. Perform reverse engineering and support evaluations of turbine components. Support manufacturing operations and ensure alignment with customer specifications. Mentor junior engineers and review technical work. Contribute to program goals, schedules, budgets, and technical priorities. Create CAD models and CNC programs; manage tooling cost and project timelines. Present technical work to internal and external stakeholders. Experience & Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ME or AE preferred) 3+ years of experience in manufacturing design and reverse Engineering. Strong CAD/CAM background with tooling development focus, preferably NX. Strong understanding of proper CAD print and model creation. Capable of being self-sufficient in CAD duties with highly complex jobs. CNC Manufacturing experience utilizing NX CAM. Knowledge of various measuring techniques including CMM, optical scanning, gages and their use in developing designs. Interpretation of engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications. Operation skills with 3D scanning software and reverse engineering. Well versed in Additive Manufacturing capabilities and use cases specifically in a tooling environment. Knowledge of gas turbine manufacturing processes (casting, machining, ...etc.) and 3D CAD modeling is preferred. Working knowledge of program management tools. Understanding of FAA requirements and guidelines is preferred. Thoughtful and effective communications skills.
