POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for following the practices and procedures of the Midway Corporate production material procurement function while administrating assigned raw material programs (if applicable), recommending and monitoring suppliers, negotiating payment terms, price and freight (as applicable), and supporting all MPG plant facilities. Investigates all new developments relative to material and supplies and makes recommendations designed to reduce cost and improve quality. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Has authority to negotiate payment terms, price and freight. Receives quotations and secures bids. Establishes and approves sources of raw materials and supplies. Establishes production material purchase contracts per established purchase requisitions from Engineering or Materials functions. May be responsible for scheduling, follow up, and expediting of deliveries in special circumstances. Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of purchasing records. Clear and concise documentation to the sourcing process and decisions made is to be included as backup information to the Purchase Order. Cooperates with production, research, engineering, and other departments in the development of equipment, product specifications and substitute materials. Cooperates with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of materials. Recommends departmental policies, procedures, and programs. Responsible for supplier performance and compliance to standards. Reviews, recommends, processes and resolves disputed claims against suppliers for unsatisfactory materials or equipment as required. Visits vendor's offices and plants to investigate facilities, capacity, and ability to meet quality requirements, specifications and delivery dates. Abides by the Midway Products Group, Inc. Confidentiality Agreement while in communication or correspondence with suppliers or customers. Keep abreast of price trends in basic raw materials and supplies, makes recommendations on the timing and quantity of purchases, and the establishment of most economical purchase quantities. Performs other essential functions as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Four-year college degree preferred or the equivalent experience. Must have a minimum of three years' experience in materials purchasing, preferably with an automotive supplier. WORKING CONDITIONS
