Pay Information $2,686 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery Profession: RN Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor & Delivery License: Current Illinois RN license required Certifications: BLS, NRP; certification required within two years of employment Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years experience in Labor & Delivery - Current Illinois RN license - BLS certification - NRP certification Description: Reporting to the Patient Care Manager and according to department policies and patient care standards, provides professional patient care services to Obstetric patients requiring an acute level of Client-fetal monitoring and intervention. This includes caring for laboring women, without complications of pregnancy, surgical interventions during labor and delivery, and care of complications of high-risk pregnancies. In doing so, promotes the philosophy of family-centered maternity care. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served (childbearing, 10-55 years of age). Contributes to a professional environment of respect and compassion. Maintains licensure and professional certifications, and engages in continuing education to advance knowledge base. Participates in committees and self-evaluating tools. Demonstrates, supports, and models the organizational mission, vision, and values. Participates in the quality improvement processes and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to advocate for patients. Enhances professional growth and keeps abreast of state and national accreditation and safety standards. Physical requirements include the ability to lift objects weighing up to 60 pounds on a daily basis and the ability to push and pull patients on gurneys. Work requires the ability to stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, and reach with arms and hands.
